While the EB-5 requires you to maintain permanent residence in the U.S., even restricting travel time to some degree, the E-2 allows you to come and go as you please for the duration of the visa, which can last anywhere from three months to five years and may be renewed continuously.
Family members may also accompany you to the U.S. under the E-2 visa, as investors’ spouses and children are allowed to work in the U.S. and attend the country’s schools.
Although the EB-5 has similar family benefits, the fees for the E-2 are much lower, usually around $1,000, as compared to the EB-5, which charges at least double that amount.
